Digital Deserts – Kenya
In the digital age, the disparity in access to digital resources creates “data deserts,” particularly affecting marginalized communities in Sub-Saharan Africa like Kenya. These deserts exacerbate the digital divide, hindering access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities. Kenya’s National Digital Master Plan (2022-2032) aims to tackle this challenge by connecting households, schools, and government offices, fostering economic growth, innovation, and inclusive development. By investing in infrastructure, affordability, and digital literacy, Kenya seeks to create a more equitable digital society, where every individual can thrive regardless of their circumstances.
