Corrugated B/C Flute pallet
(57) Abstract
The invention relates to a pallet comprising of a corrugated board 5 ply B/C flute whereby flutes B and C are pasted. The top flap is cut to size, creased to angle and folded at the two edges. The top flap is made of a smooth board that prevents damage to the load. The two sides are creased and folded to give the right angle so that the goods do not tolt and fall over the egdes. The bottom flap is 10mm less than the top flap in length and lOrn less in height so that the top flap locks over the bottom flap securely. The two flaps are glued together. The vertical sides are not covered so that the forklift can lift the pallet easily. The pallet is supported by glucing 12 cores of board of equal size.

CORRUATED 5PLY B/C FLUTE PALLET This invention relates to the wooden pellet.
Wooden pallets are well known as load carriers with a capacity of approximately two tons of load. Pallets also come in different sizes depending on the size and weight of the goods to be loaded. Pallets are airlifted, shipped and loaded on lorries. Pallets facilitate organized peeking especially of sheets of board/paper hence enabling containers to be utilized to their full capacity. Loaded wooden pallets are often transported by forklifts from place to place within the premises, factories, mills etc without being damaged,
'rhe wooden pallets are made of planks of cheap wood_ The two vertical planks and horizontal planks with gaps in them are nailed to four wooden legs of about four inches high, 'To support the load, the horizontal planks are nailed strongly to the vertical ones. The whole structure is supported on the four legs ( approximately four inches high) nailed at four corners, Though cheap wood is utilized, the wooden pallets are stilt costly because nails and hammers (tools) have to be bought The wooden pallets do not have a smooth, finishing top. They rot in the rain, They cannot be dismantled and thus cannot be stacked away neatly. They occupy plenty of space. Air & Sea freight will be higher for goods loaded on wooden pallets, as the wooden pallets will be heavier. More time is spent and less load is carried within the premises, factories and mills as loaded wooden pallets are heavy to transport. They add to the risk of tree conservation and are not environment friendly when discarded as waste. The end user is the loser because when he has to dispose off the pallets, he has to pay the transporter for dumping them away The other option is selling them off at a throw away price to rid the place off them These cannot he recycled for re-use.
The flute pallet, on the ether hand is made of cormgated board. This pallet is cost effective as the uerrugated board that is used is recyclable. The glue is waste glue. The cores are from waste board and are also recyclable, The pallet is light in weight and therefore Air & Sea freight will be cheaper than loading goods on wooden pallets. A flute pallet has a smooth top and no damage will be done to paper or hoard. Stacking pallets for reuse will be easier. More load will be tamed from one place to another eg. The factory, mill, premises as the flute pellets are lighter and transportation will be faster.

The object of the present invention, the Corrugated 5 ply B/C flute pallet is to provide a
load carrier for reels sheets of paper/board and many other items depending on the user.
A further object of the invention is to provide a load carrier which is recyclable and is made of waste paper.
A further object of the invention is to provide a load carrier which requires no wood and hence no danger of deforestation
A further object of the invention is to provide a load carrier which requires no nails, no hammers or other such expensive tools. Waste glue is used. Thus it is cheaper and faster to make and less labour is required,
A further object of the invention is to provide a load carrier which is lighter and can be lifted uasily by the forklift or pallet jack from either of the horizontal sides. The distance between the pallet base and the ground is ideal for sliding the arms of the forklift or the pallet jack for easy lifting.
A further object of the invention is to provide a Mad carrier with a strong support of recyclable cores which will not let the goods tilt or fall off. The whole pallet stands on these cores.
A further object of the invention is to provide a load carrier with a neat, smooth finish top which will not damage the paper/board of high quality.
A further object of the invention is to provide a load carrier which will be cheaper to airlift or ship as the weight will be less than the wooden pallet.
A further object of the invention is to provide a load carrier which will facilitate faster movement within the premises as it will be lighter to carry.
 
The present invention is a pallet comprising of corrugated 5 ply B/C flute whereby flutes B and C are pasted. This pallet is a light, luw, rectangular, horizontal platform made of corrugated flute for carrying loads. It has a smooth top which is a safety guard against damage of any kind to the goods,
The top flap is cut to size, creased to angle and folded at the two edges. The top flap is smooth board that prevent damage to the load. The two sides are creased and folded to give the right angle so that the goods do not tilt and fall over the edges. The bottom flap is l Omm less that the top flap in length and 10m less in height to that the top flap locks over the bottom one securely . The two flaps are glued together. The vertical sides are not covered as that the forklift can lift the pallets easily. The pallet is supported by giueing on to 12 cores of board of equal size.

2 A corrugated 5 ply LI/C flute pallet as claimed in claim I wherein guide means are provided on the top flap. The top flap is smooth & neat. it is cut to size. ( Flute pallets can be of different sizes). It is creased to perfection at an angle. Both vertical sides of the top flap must be creased at equal angles. The top flap is then folded. The folds should be totally accurate so that they fit perfectly on the bottom flap.
3.    A corrugated 5 ply B/C flute pallet as claimed in claim 2 wherein guide means are provided on the bottom flap. The bottom flap like the top flap is cut to size, It is creased to perfection at an angle. Both vertical sides of the bottom flap must be creased at equal angles. The bottom flap is then folded. The vertical folds should be totally accurate so that they fft in perfectly to the inner vertical sides of the top flap
4.    A corrugated 5ply B/C flute pallet as claimed in claim 3 is glued and supported on the board cores. These cores are recyclable .
The cotTug.a.ted 5 ply B/C flute pallet is ready. It is described herein with reference to figures 1-4 of the accompanying drawings.
